With County Care Berkshire already having raised over £1000 for Dementia charities, Carolyn Jarvis; Director of Operations, can still be found singing for the national charity ‘Singing for the Brain’.

Singing for the Brain

Set up by the Alzheimer’s Society, Singing for the brain uses voice to bring people together in a friendly and stimulating social environment. Singing is not only an enjoyable activity, it can also provide a way for people with dementia, along with their carer’s, to express themselves and socialise with others in a fun and supportive group. With Carolyn being a keen member of this group, it furthers the inspiration of County Care to consistently provide the best quality dementia care to those who need it. Carolyn says:

“Singing enables people with dementia to promote positive memories from the past and enables people to communicate through song”

Our trained and supportive carers understand the difficulties associated with this condition, respecting the need to communicate well and ensure people continue to feel safe and are treated with dignity . They are experienced in helping people and their families cope with the challenges that caring for someone with dementia brings about on a daily basis.

There is always so much more to learn about when providing dementia care. We are absolutely determined to help people living with dementia – Enabling people to remain as independent as possible in their own home is our aim.
